INSTITUTE OF HEALTH SCIENCE
Erciyes University Graduate School of Health Sciences was established under the Rectorate on 20 July 1982 with various provisions of the Higher Education Law No. 2457 and the statutory decree No. 41 on the Organizations of Higher Education Institutions. It started its activities in the 1982-1983 academic year. The Graduate School of Health Sciences, which contributes to the production of science by Turkish universities at an international level, continued its activities in various departments of our University until 1997. Today, the Graduate School serves in the Nuri and Zekiye HAS Graduate Schools building, the foundation of which was laid in October 1995 by businessman Kadir HAS in memory of his late mother and father, which has a closed area of 6000 m2, and which was opened on October 9, 1997 by the 9th President Süleyman Demirel.

Why Graduate School of Health Sciences: The aim of science is to enable the information gathered about the universe and life to be used in a beneficial way for the society. Universities are the leading institutions that undertake this task. The task of universities is to train qualified people for the science and business world and to do research. For this purpose, universities contribute to the training of necessary manpower through undergraduate and graduate education. Graduate Schools provide Master's and Doctoral education at graduate level. While Master’s education aims to reveal the results of education and research based on undergraduate education, Doctoral education aims to train scientists who can plan, conduct and conclude the necessary research for social, cultural, economic and technological development. Thus, the Graduate School of Health Sciences considers it as its basic duty to train scientists and researchers who freely think, discuss, question, research, adhere to ethical values and bring scientific thinking to a modern level in all areas of life.

Opportunities: Erciyes University Graduate School of Health Sciences has an area of approximately 1500 m2 in Nuri and Zekiye HAS Graduate Schools building. It has administrative offices, six classrooms, a meeting room, a library and a conference hall for 110 people used jointly with other graduate schools. The internet room, which has been put into service for the Institute students and research assistants to search for sources and access information during their course and thesis studies, provides service with seven computers. Most of the courses in the programs are carried out in institute classrooms, while practices are carried out in the laboratories of the departments.

Our Advantages: We see it as a chance for our university to have graduate schools organizing graduate education. The Graduate School of Health Sciences is among the few graduate schools with 112 programs opened in the fields of medicine, veterinary medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing and physical education. In addition to the opportunities of the graduate school, the fact that our university has a technopark, owns advanced research laboratories in the relevant faculties, carries out the accreditation studies rapidly, makes use of the ERASMUS program, has an experimental and clinical research center where students will conduct their thesis studies and researches, and has an international office ensures the formation of a wide and effective range of students in our institute.

Minimum and Maximum Scores: ALES quantitative score type (a score of at least 55) is essential in the applications of graduates with a Bachelor’s Degree to Master's programs and Master’s Degree graduates to Doctoral programs, whereas some of our departments accept students having equal weight score type (a score of at least 55) and verbal score type (a score of at least 55). ALES quantitative score type must be at least 80 for the application of graduates with a Bachelor’s Degree to doctoral programs (ALES certificates are valid for 3 years.). Students applying to doctoral programs must have a score of at least 55 in the Inter-University Council Foreign Language Exam (ÜDS, YDS, YÖKDİL) or get an equivalent score from an exam accepted by the Inter-University Council. It is compulsory for foreign students to obtain a score of at least 55 from UDS, other than their mother tongue, in one of the following languages, English, French and German, or get an equivalent score from an exam accepted by the Inter-University Council. UDS, KPDS (Foreign Language Proficiency Exam for Public Personnel), YDS (Foreign Language Exam), YÖKDİL (Higher Education Institutions Language Exam), TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language), and other foreign language exam results accepted as equivalent to UDS by the Inter-University Council were taken into consideration as a foreign language certificate when entering graduate programs (Foreign language certificates are valid for 5 years.).
